Coming from 3 grapes varieties - Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier - Noble Joué is a "grey wine" of Touraine Appellation. A grey wine is a kind of rosé wine, named like this because of its
color and its vinification process.
Created 5 centuries ago, between the Cher and the Indre rivers, it was famous for Louis XI reign. Since 1976, a few winegrowers decided to preserve and save the Noble Joué vineyard. Nowadays, the
designation area count between 20 and 25 hectares of vines, located in the towns of Esvres-sur-Indre, Joué-les-Tours, Chambray-lès-Tours, Saint-Avertin and Larçay.
